Cardamom prices rose by Rs 12.80 to Rs 1,065 per kg in futures trade today largely on the back of pick-up in demand in the spot markets.
Restricted arrivals from producing regions also supported the rise in prices.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in June rose by Rs 12.80, or 1.22% to Rs 1,065 per kg, with a trading volume of nine lots.
The spice for delivery in July increased by Rs 9.60, or 0.91% to Rs 1,060 per kg, with a trade volume of five lots.
Likewise, its prices for delivery in May gained Rs 7.90, or 0.75% to Rs 1,030 per kg, with a business volume of 35 lots.
Traders said pick-up in spot market demand against restricted arrivals from producing regions mainly led to the rise in cardamom prices at futures market.
