Cardamom prices rose by Rs 22.50 to Rs 955 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions on the back of a firming spot market trend on pick-up in demand.
Restricted arrivals from producing region also influenced the cardamom prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for June delivery rose by Rs 22.50, or 2.41% to Rs 955 per kg, with a business turnover of three lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in July moved up by Rs 20.10, or 2.10% to Rs 975 per kg, with an open interest of two lots.
Traders said besides pick-up in spot market demand, restricted arrivals from the producing regions mainly pushed up cardamom prices at futures trade.
