Cardamom prices fell by Rs 14.50 to Rs 1,037 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at higher levels amid subdued demand in the spot market.

Marketmen said increased arrivals from producing regions also put pressure on cardamom futures prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, cardamom for October contract delivery declined by Rs 14.50, or 1.38 per cent, to Rs 1,037 per kg, with a business turnover of 61 lots.

Similarly, cardamom futures for November delivery eased by Rs 10.60, or 1.04 per cent, to Rs 1,009.90 per kg, with a trading volume of 26 lots. Cardamom for December contract delivery moved down by Rs 9.20, or 0.92 per cent, to Rs 992 per kg in four lots.
