Cardamom gains 0.57% on spot demand

Lower arrivals from producing regions supports the uptrend

Cardamom prices rose by 0.57% to Rs 758 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, driven by pick-up in demand at spot markets.

Besides, lower arrivals from producing regions also supported the uptrend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the July contract of cardamom gained Rs 4.30, or 0.57%, to Rs 758 per kg in business turnover of 122 lots.

June cardamom edged up by 90 paise, or 0.12%, to Rs 727.10 per kg in 400 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by speculators driven by rising demand in spot market against restricted arrivals from producing belts led to rise in cardamom prices at futures trade.
