Amid pick up in demand in the spot market, cardamom prices were up Rs 9.70 to Rs 1,351.30 per kg in futures trade today.

Tight supplies in the physical market following less arrivals from producing region also supported the uptrend in cardamom.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the May cardamom gained Rs 9.70, or 0.72% to Rs 1,351.30 per kg in business turnover of 852 lots.

The April contract also edged up by Rs 1.60, or 0.05% to Rs 1,230.20 per kg in 1816 lots.

Market analysts attributed  the rise in cardamom futures to pick up in demand in the spot market against less arrivals from producing region.
