Continuing the rising trend, cardamom futures shot up by another 4% to hit the upper circuit today, mostly supported by reports of adverse weather at producing regions strong domestic and export demand.
Also tight supplies from growing belts in the spot markets also influenced cardamom futures prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in June shot up by Rs 53.90, or 4%, to Rs 1,400.90 per kg, with a business turnover of 7 lots.
The May contract gained Rs 51.70, or 4%, to Rs 1,344.20 per kg, with a trading volume of 45 lots.
April cardamom jumped up by Rs 49, or 4%, to Rs 1,274.30 per kg, with business volume of 322 lots.
Analysts attributed persistent rise in cardamom prices to reports of adverse weather conditions at growing belts and strong domestic as well as export demand.
