Cardamom futures prices moved higher by Rs 19.20 to Rs 1,595 per kg in futures trade today on the back of strong demand against the restricted supply in the spot market.
Lower arrivals to the physical market are further assisting the gain in prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, cardamom for March-month delivery contract surged by Rs 19.20, or 1.21 per cent, to Rs 1,595 per kg, with a turnover of 111 lots, while April delivery rose by Rs 17, or 1.05 per cent, to Rs 1,638 per kg, with an open interest of 37 lots.
Similarly, the delivery in February also inched up by Rs 14.60, or 0.96 per cent, to Rs 1,531.10 per kg, with an open interest of 437 lots.
