Cardamom prices moved up by Rs 11.60 to Rs 926 per kg in futures trade today as traders enlarged their positions, supported by a rise in demand in the spot market.
Restricted arrivals from producing regions also supported the uptrend in cardamom prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in October moved up by Rs 11.60, or 1.27%, to Rs 926 with a business turnover of 57 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in July gained Rs 2.20, or 0.25%, to Rs 887.50 in 183 lots.
Market analysts said increased buying by traders on a pick-up in demand in the spot market against less arrivals mainly led to the rise in cardamom futures prices.
