Cardamom remained weak for the second day and prices fell 0.21 per cent to Rs 703.60 per kg in futures trading today owing to sluggish demand against adequate stocks position.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February declined by Rs 1.50, or 0.21 per cent to Rs 703.60 per kg in business turnover of 132 lots.

The March contract shed 20 paise, or 0.03 per cent to Rs 733.90 per kg in 52 lots.

Market analysts said sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position on higher supplies from growing regions mainly kept pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade.
