Cardamom rises 0.8% on spot demand

Restricted arrivals from producing regions supported the uptrend

Cardamom prices rose by Rs 5.90 to Rs 763.40 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, supported by a firm export and spot market demand.

Further, restricted arrivals from producing regions also supported the uptrend in cardamom futures.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the July contract surged Rs 5.90, or 0.77%, to Rs 763.40 per kg in 150 lots.

The June contract rose by Rs 4.20, or 0.57%, to Rs 733.70 per kg in 792 lots.

Traders said rising export as well as spot demand and restricted supplies from producing regions mainly led to an upsurge in cardamom futures prices.
