Cardamom futures prices today rose by 1.05% to Rs 738.60 per kg as speculators created fresh positions driven by rising demand at spot markets amid low stocks on restricted arrivals from producing belts.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom prices for July delivery rose by Rs 7.70, or 1.05%, to Rs 738.60 per kg, in a business volume of 325 lots.

Cardamom prices of August delivery rose by Rs 6.60, or 0.84%, to Rs 784.80 per kg, with a business volume of 899 lots.

Traders said pick up in demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals from producing regions attributed to the rise in cardamom prices in the futures market.
