Cardamom prices rose further by 2.98% to Rs 713.20 per kg in futures trade today after speculators created positions supported by rising demand at spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in October spurted by Rs 20.70, or 2.98%, to Rs 713.20 per kg, with a business turnover of 52 lots.

The spice for delivery in November increased by Rs 5.20, or 0.70%, to Rs 745 per kg with a trading volume of 421 lots.

Traders said firm demand in the physical market against restricted arrivals from producing belts, mainly influenced cardamom prices at futures trade.
