Cardamom prices fell by Rs 4.80 to Rs 765.10 per kg in futures trade today, as speculators booked profits amid subdued demand in the spot market.

Increased arrivals from producing regions also put pressure on cardamom prices in futures trade.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, October cardamom declined by Rs 4.80, or 0.62%, to Rs 765.10 per kg, with a business turnover of 141 lots.

The November contract ased by Rs 4.80, or 0.58%, to Rs 815.60 per kg, with a trading volume of 41 lots, while September contract cardamom fell by Rs 4, or 0.57%, to Rs 692 per kg in 269 lots.

Market analysts said besides profit-booking at existing higher levels, a fall in demand in the spot market put pressure on cardamom prices in futures trade.
