Cardamom futures prices rose by Rs 10 to Rs 823 per kg today as traders created fresh positions, driven by pick-up in demand in the spot market following ongoing marriage season.

Tight stock availability due to less arrivals from producing regions further fuelled the uptrend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the March contract for cardamom rose by Rs 10, or 1.23%, to Rs 823 per kg in business turnover of 2,786 lots.

The April contract moved up by Rs 9.20, or 1.07%, to Rs 865.90 per kg in 571 lots.

Traders said apart from firming trend at spot market on good demand in the spot market in view of marriage season against restricted arrivals from producing region mainly pushed up cardamom prices at futures trade.
