Cardamom prices fell by Rs 10.30 to Rs 683.40 per kg in futures trade today on profit booking by speculators on the back of sluggish demand.
Increased arrivals from the producing regions also put pressure on the cardamom prices in futures trade.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, October cardamom declined by Rs 10.30, or 1.48%, to Rs 683.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 53 lots.
The December contract fell by Rs 9.00, or 1.12%, to Rs 786 per kg, with a trading volume of 46 lots.
Likewise, cardamom prices for delivery in November eased by Rs 8.40, or 1.11%, to Rs 744.60 per kg, with a business volume of 180 lots.
Marketmen said, besides profit taking by speculators at existing higher prices, fall in spot market demand also put pressure on cardamom futures prices.
