Supported by rising demand in the spot market cardamom prices recovered by 0.22% to Rs 910.10 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in July month rose by Rs 2, or 0.22%, to Rs 910.10 per kg in business turnover of 170 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in August contracts traded marginally up by 10 paise, or 0.01%, to Rs 887.90 per kg in 19 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions, created by speculators amidst pick up in demand in the spot market, mainly led to the rise in cardamom prices in futures trade.
