Cardamom prices rose by 0.54% to Rs 817 per kg in futures trade today amid rise in domestic and export demand and restricted supplies from producing regions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in October moved up by Rs 4.40, or 0.54%, to Rs 817 per kg in business turnover of 17 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in November contracts edged up by 40 paise, or 0.05%, to Rs 828 per kg in 12 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in cardamom futures to pick up in domestic as well as export demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions.
