Cardamom prices traded higher by 0.96% to Rs 754.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, supported by a rise in demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in November rose by Rs 7.20, or 0.96% to Rs 754.50 per kg in a business turnover of 330 lots.

Similarly, cardamom for delivery in October edged up by Rs 5.10, or 0.72% to Rs 713.60 per kg in 714 lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions created by speculators after a rise in demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals from producing region mainly helped cardamom prices to trade higher at futures trade.
