Cardamom prices rose by 2.85% to Rs 666 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions on rising demand in spot market against restricted arrivals from producing belts.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in August rose by Rs 18.50, or 2.85%, to Rs 666 per kg, with a business turnover of 748 lots.
Similarly, cardamom for delivery in September edged up by Rs 9.50, or 1.26%, to Rs 763.40 per kg in 567 lots.
Traders said besides restricted supplies from producing belts, strong domestic and export demand influenced cardamom prices at futures trade.
