Cardamom prices moved up by Rs 29.80 to Rs 1,071.50 per kg in futures trade today, as speculators created fresh positions, driven by a pick-up in spot demand.
Restricted arrivals from producing region in the physical market also supported the rise in cardamom prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in May rose by Rs 29.80, or 2.86% to Rs 1,071.50 per kg in business turnover of 439 lots.
The March contract gained Rs 22.20, or 2.41%, to Rs 945 per kg in 4,790 lots.
Analysts said fresh buying by speculators after pick-up in demand in the spot market against limited arrivals from producing region mainly pushed up cardamom prices at futures trade.
