Cardamom futures prices today remained firm and rose further by Rs 3.40 to Rs 1,357.80 per kg as speculators enlarged their positions, tracking a firming trend on pick up in spot demand for the festive season.

Lower arrivals from producing belts further fuelled the uptrend in cardamom futures.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in September added Rs 3.40, or 0.25%, to Rs 1,357.80 per kg in a business turnover of 34 lots.

The August contract edged up by Rs 2, or 0.15%, to Rs 1,379.50 per kg in 330 lots.

Analysts said apart from firming trend at spot market on pick-up in demand for the ongoing festive season amid restricted arrivals from producing belts led to rise in cardamom futures prices.
