Cardamom prices rose by Rs 10.40 to Rs 1,096 per kg in futures trade today, largely supported by a strong demand in the spot markets against restricted supply.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in April surged by Rs 10.40, or 0.95%, to Rs 1,096 per kg, with a business volume of 136 lots.
The May contract gained Rs 10.50, or 0.94%, to Rs 1,119 per kg, with a business volume of 128 lots.
June cardamom rose by Rs 9.60, or 0.86%, to Rs 1,116 per kg, with a turnover of 15 lots.
Market analysts said rise in cardamom futures prices was mostly influenced by strong domestic and export demand amid low stocks following restricted supplies.
