Cashew prices declined Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today, largely on subdued demand from retailers and stockists at existing high prices.

Comfortable stocks position following increased arrivals from producing belts also weighed on the cashew prices.

Cashew kernel (No 180, 210, 240 and 320) prices fell by Rs 5 each to settle at Rs 630-640, Rs 585-595, Rs 520-530 and Rs 435-455 per kg, respectively.

Market analysts said subdued demand from retailers and stockists against adequate stocks mainly led to decline in cashew kernel prices at the wholesale dry fruit market here.

Following are today's quotations in Rs per 40 kg:

Almond (California) Rs 9,900 Almond (gurbandi-new) Rs 4,800-5,000 almond (girdhi) Rs 2,800-2,900 and Abjosh Afghani Rs 7,000-20,000
