Cashew prices declined by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today owing to fall in demand from retailers and stockists.

Adequate stocks following increased arrivals from the producing belts also put pressure on the cashew prices. Cashew kernel (No 180, 210, 240 and 230) prices fell by Rs 5 each to settle at Rs 625-635, Rs 580-585, Rs 515-520 and Rs 445-465 per kg, respectively.

Market analysts said subdued demand from retailers and stockists against adequate stocks mainly led to the decline in cashew kernel prices at the wholesale dry fruit market.

Following are today's quotations in Rs per 40 kg:

Almond (California) Rs 9,800 Almond (gurbandi-new) Rs 4,900-5,200 almond (girdhi) Rs 2,600-2,800 and Abjosh Afghani Rs 7,000-20,000
