Castor oil declines further on lower industrial demand

Castorseed bold and castoroil commercial prices declined further at the oils and oilseeds market here today due to fall in demand amid increased arrivals from key producing regions.

Castorseeds futures settled lower on poor exports demand.

Refined palmolein also moved down marginally on weak Malayasian advices.

Groundnut oil and linseed oil maintained its steady trend in the absence of market moving factors.

In the non-edible oil segment, castorseed bold slipped by Rs 10 to Rs 3,215 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 3,225 and castoroil commercial fell by Rs 2 to Rs 673 as against Rs 675 yesterday. Linseed oil ruled steady at Rs 520.

Turning to futures section, castorseed June contract resumed lower at Rs 3,106 and moved in a range of Rs 3,135 and Rs 3,096 before settling at Rs 3,113 as against Rs 3,114 previously.

Moving to edible oil section, refined palmolein softened to Rs 395 from Rs 396, while groundnut oil closed unchanged at Rs 670.
