Castorseed prices declined by Rs 45 to Rs 3,560 per quintal in futures trading today on fresh selling by traders in line with weak physical markets sentiment.

Marketmen said fall in demand and increased arrivals in spot markets mainly led the fall here in future price of castorseed.

Low demand from consuming industries such as paint and lubricant makers amid weak export demand, too influenced the trading sentiment.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, castorseed for January fell by Rs.45, or 1.25 per cent to Rs.3,560 per quintal, with an open interest of 44,800 lots.

The December month also weakened by Rs.39, or 1.11 per cent to Rs.3,483 per quintal, having an open interest of 93,440 lots.
