Castorseed futures moves down on aggressive selling

Castorseed prices tumbled by Rs 51 to Rs 4,035 per quintal in futures trade today on all round selling at existing higher levels.

Marketmen said fall in industrial demand along with increased supply in physical markets, mainly led to a fall here in futures prices of castorseed.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange platform, castorseed price for current December-month contract went down by Rs 51 or 1.25 per cent to Rs 4,035 per quintal, with an open interest of 3,680 lots.

Near January month delivery fell by Rs 29.50 or 0.78 per cent to Rs 3,745 per quintal, with an open interest of 8,320 lots.

February contract plunged by Rs 36.50 or 1.02 per cent to Rs.3,535 per quintal, with an open interest of 2,920 lots.
