Castorseed futures moves up on renewed demand

Prices of castorseed futures recovered moderately in an otherwise steady oils and oilseeds market due to renewed demand from exporters.

Meanwhile, edible and non-edible oils held stable owing to lack of any worthwhile buying activity.   

In the futures section, castorseeds for March delivery resumed higher at Rs 4,385 later firmed up to close Rs 4,426 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 4,375, showing a moderate rise of Rs 51 per tonne.

However, groundnut oil, refined palmolein, castorseed bold, castoroil commercial and linseed oil all ended unaltered at Rs 760, Rs 585, Rs 5,300, Rs 1,090 and Rs 710 respectively.
