Castorseed prices jumped up further by Rs 52 to Rs 4,962 per quintal in futures trade today following sustained buying by traders guided by a firming trend in the spot markets.
Market analysts said renewed buying by traders against restricted supply in domestic markets, mainly kept castorseed future prices higher.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed prices for delivery in May advanced by Rs 52, or 1.06 per cent, to Rs 4,962 per quintal, with an open interest of 3,600 lots.
Castorseed futures prices for delivery in April too gained Rs 42.50, or 0.86 per cent, to Rs 4,995 per quintal, with a business volume of 9,460 lots.
