Castorseed futures spurts on aggressive buying

Castorseed prices surged by Rs 99 or 2.68 per cent to Rs 3,789 per quintal in futures trade today on brisk buying in the wake of firm physical market sentiment.

Marketmen said, paucity of stocks and restricted supply at physical markets, encouraged traders to raise their positions. 

Strong industrial demand also boosted the trading sentiment, they added.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, castorseed price for January-month contract flared by Rs 99, or 2.68 per cent to Rs 3,789 per quintal, with an open interest of 6,560 lots.  

Current-month December contract also remained in keen demand and rose by Rs 78 or 1.98 per cent to Rs 4,027 per quintal, with an open interest of 4,090 lots.
