Castorseed futures surge by 3%

Castorseed prices surged by Rs 123.50 to Rs 4,229.50 per quintal in futures trade today on brisk buying by traders, influenced by firming spot market sentiment.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, castorseed for far March contract shot up by Rs 123.50, or 3.01 per cent, to Rs 4,229.50 per quintal, with an open interest of 5,180 lots.

February month contract jumped by Rs 122 or 2.75 per cent to Rs 4,561 per quintal, with an open interest of 7,150 lots.

January contract also flared up by Rs 112.50 or 2.37 per cent to Rs 4,855 per quintal, revealing an open interest of 880 lots.
