Castorseed up 1.5% on spot demand

Marketmen said pick up in demand of castoroil from consuming industries like paint makers led the rise

Castorseed prices rose by Rs 61 to Rs 3,961 per quintal in future trade today on higher spot demand.

Fresh enquiries from exporters also aided the bullish trend, they said.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed for most active January contract shot up by Rs 61, or 1.56% to Rs 3,961 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,15,920 lots.
 
Far February contract climbed by Rs 61, or 1.55%, to Rs 4,000 per quintal, having an open interest of 7,890 lots.
 
Near November contract gained Rs 47, or 1.28% to Rs 3,708 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 1,05,870 lots, while current October contract rose by Rs 50, or 1.41% at Rs 3,600 per quintal, in an open interest of 36,860 lots.
