Caustic soda rises on buying support

Caustic soda prices rose by Rs 100 to Rs 1,300-1,400 per 50 kg in the national capital today, largely influenced by buying support from detergent and other consuming units.

Traders said good demand from detergent and other consuming units against tight supplies from producing belts mainly pushed up caustic soda prices on the wholesale chemical market.

Following are today's quotations:

Ammonium chloride (50 kg) Rs 900-2,200, acetic acid (1kg) Rs 45-48, ammonia bicarb (25 kg) Rs 475-500, boric acid technical (50 kg) Rs 3,200-3,600, borex granular (50 kg) Rs 1,800-1,900.

Caustic soda flake (50 kg) Rs 1,300-1,400, citric acid (50 kg) (China) Rs 3,100-4,000, citric acid deshi (50 kg) Rs 3,200-4,100, camphor slab (1 kg) Rs 380, camphor powder (1kg) Rs 360, glycerine (1 kg) Rs 110-120, hexamine (1kg) Rs 82, hydrogen peroxide (1 kg) Rs 40-45, menthol bold crystal (per kg) Rs 1,125, menthol flake (1kg) Rs 1,075 and mentha oil (1kg) Rs 990.
