The Sensex has bounced back into the green after a steep early fall, which saw it touch a low of 6,069. Impressive gains in select counters lifted the index to a high of 6,131, but has come off-highs in current trades owing to profit-taking in select stocks. It is now up five points at 6,111. The Nifty is up three points at 1,912.Advances are slightly up against declines with 934 gainers and 864 losers on the BSE.ITC has gained 1.17% (Rs 16) to Rs 1,360. HLL, which attracted considerable buying support yesterday, is up a per cent at Rs 149. Infosys is up with a small gain of Rs 4 at Rs 1,908. Reliance, however, is trading marginally lower at Rs 506.SBI is up a notch at Rs 571. HDFC Bank has moved up 1.72% (Rs 8) to Rs 498, while ICICI Bank is down a per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 335.ONGC has clocked a per cent gain (Rs 5) to Rs 784. HPCL has jumped 2% (Rs 7) to Rs 334, and Bharti is up 1.26% (Rs 2) at Rs 201. Tisco is up a per cent (Rs 3) at Rs 363.While Satyam (up Rs 3 to Rs 376) is trading with steady gains, Wipro is trading with a per cent loss (Rs 5) at Rs 642.ACC has slipped 1.39% (Rs 5) to Rs 340. While Gujarat Ambuja is trading lower by 1.69% (Rs 7) at Rs 407, Grasim has clocked a per cent gain (Rs 7) to Rs 1,265.Hero Honda has added 1.76% (Rs 9) to Rs 523. Maruti is up a notch at Rs 411. While Bajaj has shed 1.67% (Rs 17) to Rs 1,005, Tata Motors is down a rupee at Rs 462.Select counters have firmed up in mid-morning trades. Sail, with volumes of over 46.8 lakh, has jumped 4.14% (Rs 2) to Rs 58, and Ispat, on volumes of over 60 lakh, has added 3.82% to Rs 22. While Hinduja TMT has gained 3.58% to Rs 302, Tata Tea is up 3.46% at Rs 476. Dabur, Castrol, Orchid Chem, Tata Elxsi, BoI and India Cement have logged gains in a range of 2-4%.
