Century Textiles and Industries have rallied 12% to Rs 299, extending it’s nearly 6% gain in past two days, on back of heavy volumes on the bourses. The stock opened at Rs 268 on the NSE and has seen over two-fold jump in trading volumes.
A combined 3.99 million shares have already changed hands on the counter till 1315 hours, against an average sub less than one million shares that were traded daily in past two weeks on the BSE and NSE.
On December 19, HDFC Mutual Fund had sold 2.09% or 1.95 million shares of Century Textiles held in various equity schemes through open market, the company said in a regulatory filing.
Post transaction, HDFC Mutual Fund holding in the company declined to 3.09% from 5.19% earlier.
The buyer's name was, however, not disclosed by the company.
