Chana prices fell by 0.73% to Rs 3,109 per quintal in futures market today as speculators trimmed their positions driven by a weak demand in spot market against adequate supplies from producing belts.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in September month fell by Rs 23, or 0.73% to Rs 3,109 per quintal with an open interest of 1,26,260 lots.
Similarly, chana for delivery in October slid by Rs 21, or 0.65% to Rs 3,190 per quintal in 91,720 lots.
Analysts said speculators trimmed their positions on weak demand in the spot market against adequate supplies from producing belts mainly pulled down chana prices at futures trade.
