Chana futures prices fell by Rs nine, or 0.41 per cent, at Rs 2,169 per quintal today on sufficient stocks and weak domestic demand.
Increased arrivals in the spot market also weighed on the prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, chana for July contract fell by Rs 9, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 2,169 per quintal, with a trading volume of 164 lots, while August contract declined by Rs 5, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 2,212 per quintal, with an open interest of 15 lots.
Analysts said sufficient stocks and weak domestic demand against rising supplies from the producing regions mainly pulled down the chana prices in futures trade.
