Chana prices fell by Rs 32 to Rs 4,126 per quintal in futures trade today on profit-booking by speculators amid subdued demand in domestic markets.

Increased supply from the major producing regions of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan also put pressure on chana prices in futures trade.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, December chana declined by Rs 32, or 0.77%, to Rs 4,126 per quintal, with an open interest for 10,630 lots.

The January delivery fell by Rs 23, or 0.57%, to Rs 3,977 per quintal in 1,06,680 lots.

Traders said subdued demand in the domestic markets at existing higher prices and increased arrivals from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan mainly led to the fall in chana futures prices.
