Chana futures prices declined by Rs 28 to Rs 3,270 per quintal today as speculators booked profits, driven by a weak trend at spot market.
Expectations of higher output this season also weighed on the chana futures prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, January chana declined by Rs 28, or 0.85%, to Rs 3,270 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,37,870 lots.
The December delivery lost Rs 24, or 0.77%, to Rs 3,109 per quintal, with a trade volume of 85,060 lots.
Traders said profit-booking by speculators amid weak trend at spot market on sluggish demand mainly led to the decline in chana prices at futures trade.
Expectations of a higher output this season also influenced the trading sentiment, they said.
