Chana prices fell by Rs 26 or 1.19 per cent to Rs 2,155 per quintal in futures market today owing to slack demand in spot markets against increased arrivals from the growing areas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, chana for July contract fell by Rs 26, or 1.19 per cent to Rs 2,155 per quintal, with an open interest of 2,259 lots.

Similarly, the chana for delivery in June contract declined by Rs 24, or 1.13 per cent to Rs 2,104 per quintal, with a business volume of 459 lots.

Traders said increased supplies in the face of subdued spot demand helped chana prices to shed some ground at futures market.
