Chana prices fell by Rs 24 to Rs 2,486 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators reduced their positions on increased arrivals in the spot market against subdued demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in April fell by Rs 24, or 0.96%, to Rs 2,486 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,02,880 lots.
Likewise, the commodity for delivery in May moved down by Rs 23, or 0.90%, to Rs 2,535 per quintal, with a business volume of 65,100 lots.
Analysts said increasing arrivals in the spot market against subdued demand mainly led to fall in chana prices at futures trade here.
