Chana prices fell by Rs 10 to Rs 2,509 per quintal in futures trade today due to sluggish demand against rising arrivals in the physical market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in July fell by Rs 10, or 0.40% to Rs 2,509 per quintal, with an open interest of 74,200 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in May lost Rs 5, or 0.21% to Rs 2,365 per quintal, with a trade volume of 1,35,870 lots.
Traders said sluggish demand in the domestic market against rising arrivals from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan led to the fall in chana futures prices.
