Amid strong demand in the spot market due to the ongoing festive season, chana prices gained Rs 88 to Rs 3,304 per quintal in futures trade today on fresh buying by speculators.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, November chana rose by Rs 88, or 2.74%, to Rs 3,304 per quintal, with an open interest for 133,070 lots.

The October contract shot up by Rs 36, or 1.15%, to Rs 3,160 per quintal in 177,830 lots.

Market analysts said strong demand in the spot market for the ongoing festive season mainly led to the upsurge in chana futures prices.
