Chana prices rose by Rs 10, or 0.48 per cent to Rs 2,080 per quintal in futures market today on fresh buying by speculators followed by pick up in demand at spot market.

Restricted arrivals from the producing regions also supported the uptrend. At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, chana for current-month June contract rose Rs 10, or 0.48 per cent to Rs 2,080 per quintal, with an open interest of 371 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in July contract gained Rs 9, or 0.42 per cent to Rs 2,127 per quintal, with a business turnover of 2,471 lots.

Traders said fresh buying by speculators on pick up in demand in the spot market against less arrivals from the producing regions helped chana prices to move up at futures market here.
