Chana prices rose by Rs 7 to Rs 3,137 per quintal in futures trade today, due to pick-up in demand in the spot market.
However, higher sowing in the current season in growing regions, restricted the gains.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in December month rose by Rs 7, or 0.22%, to Rs 3,137 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,45,840 lots.
Likewise, the commodity for delivery in January gained Rs 5, or 0.16%, to Rs 3,224 per quintal, with a trade volume of 83,340 lots.
Traders said a pick-up in spot demand mainly pushed up chana futures prices.
