Chana futures rose for the fourth straight session largely supported by pick-up in demand at the spot markets.

Restricted supplies also influenced chana prices at futures market here.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for July delivery contract rose by Rs 19, or 0.77% to Rs 2,502 per quintal, with open interest of 79,550 lots.

Similarly, the chana for delivery in June gained Rs 17, or 0.70% to Rs 2,434 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,56,030 lots.

Chana prices for May delivery moved up by Rs 15, or 0.64% to Rs 2,360 per quintal, with an open interest of 76,310 lots.

Traders attributed the rise in chana futures to rising spot market demand against restricted supplies.
