In range-bound trading, chana prices rose by Rs 12 to Rs 2,278 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators enlarged their positions, driven by pick up in spot demand.
Restricted arrivals from the producing regions of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh also influenced the trading sentiment at futures trade.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, chana for August month rose by Rs 12, or 0.53 per cent to Rs 2,278 per quintal with an open interest of 1297 lots.
However, the commodity for delivery in current month July held steady at Rs 2,231 per quintal in 1,052 lots.
Analysts said fresh buying by speculators followed by pick up in demand in the spot market led to rise in chana prices at futures market here.
