Chana prices declined by Rs 7, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 2,150 per quintal in futures trading today, as speculators reduced their positions, driven by rising arrivals in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, chana for current-month July contract fell by Rs 7, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 2,150 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,446 lots.
However, the commodity for delivery in August held steady at Rs 2,200 per quintal, with a turnover of 1,046 lots.
Analysts said besides rising supplies from producing regions and expectations of higher output, subdued spot demand also led to a decline in chana prices at futures trade.
