Chana futures prices rose by Rs 46 to Rs 4,471 per quintal in futures trade today on a firming trend in the spot markets and fears of fall in production due to adverse weather conditions.

Traders said the chana prices have been rising for the past few sessions mainly due to the rising domestic demand amid reports that below average monsoon this season might hurt production.

At the National Commodity Derivatives Exchange, chana for August delivery rose by Rs 46, or 1.03 %, to Rs 4,471 per quintal, with an open interest of 57,790 lots.

The July contract increased by Rs 42, or 0.96 %, to Rs 4,389 per quintal, with an open interest of 79,830 lots.
