Chana prices rose by Rs 10 to Rs 3,691 per quintal in futures trade today, as speculators created fresh positions on the back of rising domestic demand in the markets.

Higher arrivals from the fresh crop limited the uptrend to an extent.

At the National Commodity Derivatives Exchange, the April contract rose by Rs 10, or 0.27%, to Rs 3,691 per quintal, with an open interest of 37,740 lots.

The May contract gained Rs 8, or 0.21%, to Rs 3,825 per quintal, with open interest of 96,680 lots.

Analysts said increased buying by speculators on rising demand in the spot market mainly led to rise in chana futures prices.
